This movie just won best picture, which in an of itself is a miracle. To think a space-time bending tale like this could win Best Picture is mind-bending. The story is difficult to explain, other than to say it fully embraces the multiverse concept in weird and captivating ways.
Equally impressive is the fact that the acting is sumptuously good. Michelle Yoh never disappoints, but the people around her, specifically Ke Huy Quan and Jamie Lee Curtis sparkle.
The movie has flaws. It gets overindulgent in the final act. It could have trimmed about 15 minutes and been stronger. However, this is a quibble I will gladly overlook for the thrill of seeing a science fiction work not only get nominated but win an Oscar.
This is a rare movie than bends genres, expectations, and space-time.
