"Idiots" is a wild ride through testosterone-fueled transgressions, following the escapades of Mark and Davis as they transport wayward teens to rehab in a dodgy under-the-table job. With a mix of delight and disgust reminiscent of Farrelly Brothers movies, this raunchy bro comedy delivers infectious chemistry between the leads and some winning stupidity. Kiernan Shipka steals scenes as a badass Eastern European stripper, while Killer Mike's cameo as a pastor reprimanding for taking kids to see "full frontal shots of dongs" adds to the hilarity. As chaos ensues with crustpunk gangs and face tattooed rappers, "Idiots" may lose its focus but manages to keep you entertained with its zany set pieces and witty dialogue. A fun romp that doesn't take itself too seriously, perfect for those looking for some mindless laughs. Verdict: A raunchy bro comedy that delivers on testosterone-fueled transgressions, infectious chemistry, and plenty of winning stupidity – perfect for fans of raucous comedies like Pineapple Express. Rating: 3.5 out of 5 stars

"The Dog Stars" is a post-apocalyptic film that doesn't quite hit the mark of its predecessors like "I Am Legend" or "Finch," but certainly tries to carve out its own unique space in the genre. Directed by Ridley Scott and based on Peter Heller's novel, the movie follows Hig, played by Jacob Elordi, as he navigates a world decimated by a pandemic with his loyal dog Jasper and survivalist companion Bangley, portrayed by Josh Brolin. While the film attempts to blend elements of love and survival in a bleak landscape, it struggles to fully engage viewers with its characters. Elordi's portrayal of Hig comes off as somewhat flat despite his best efforts, leaving the emotional depth lacking. The introduction of Margaret Qualley and Guy Pearce's characters inject some life into the story but fail to elevate it significantly. Scott's decision to set the film in Italy rather than Colorado adds an unusual twist, while Hozier’s song “Like Real People Do” provides a fitting backdrop for this unconventional post-apocalyptic tale. The juxtaposition of tender moments amidst violent encounters creates an intriguing dynamic that keeps audiences guessing. Despite some missteps and lackluster character development, "The Dog Stars" manages to deliver moments of intrigue and action within its dystopian setting. It may not reach soaring heights like other films in the genre, but it offers a decent attempt at blending romance and survival against all odds. Overall, this film is like Jasper - loyal and well-meaning but falls short of being truly exceptional. Verdict: While not achieving top-tier status among post-apocalyptic movies, "The Dog Stars" offers a unique take on love and survival in a brutal world where man's best friend may be humanity's last hope.

"Colony" is like a vibrant cocktail of zombie mayhem, dark humor, and social commentary shaken up in a Seoul sky-rise. Director Yeon Sang-ho serves up another frenetic Korean zombie flick that's equal parts bone-chilling and tongue-in-cheek. With nods to classic genre tropes and innovative twists like hive-mind zombies, "Colony" keeps the blood pumping and the brains munching. The film's infectious energy comes from its dynamic action sequences choreographed with Sadler's Wells-worthy precision by Jeon Young, making even Michael Jackson's Thriller look tame in comparison. While the narrative may not break new ground in human drama dynamics, it excels in showcasing survival instincts amidst chaos and betrayal lurking around every corner. This latest installment in Yeon's undead universe may not reinvent the zombie wheel but offers a bloody good time for fans craving fresh gore-splattered thrills. So grab your popcorn (and maybe some bright green liquid tech), settle into your seat, and enjoy the wild ride through this stylishly sinister mall of horrors - just watch out for those dancing zombies on a mission to infect your funny bone! "Colony" proves that when it comes to blending horror with humor and heart-stopping action, South Korea continues to lead the charge down undead alleyways with devilish glee. Verdict: "Colony" is a rollercoaster ride through Seoul's skyscraper of terror, where zombies reign supreme and survival means sticking together against all odds – unless you prefer being part of their next hive mind meeting!
